It is true that people misuse “depression” and “depressed” just like they misuse “addicted” and “addictive”, but yeah over an average of 70 years of life span it is strongly likely inental health statistics that an individual will encounter depression after a tremendous life event change such as death or a huge conflict or a major life change. In Psychology, the proven model of reacting to change in humans goes in stages : denial then anger then depression and finally acceptance.
