My Tiny Tales: Innocence

It was her birthday. I made her a special cake with my own hands. It was a my secret recipe, something I had made myself a few years back and never given her. The secret ingredient was a special Brazilian nut I got from the market.

She arrived and me and her friends surprised her with the cake. She said she wasn’t hungry but I really wanted her to taste it. Her friends held her back as I pushed a big piece of the nut-laden cake in her mouth.

Soon, she began choking and gasping for air. She turned red and couldn’t breathe. We took her to the hospital as soon as we could but it was too late. She died and later I found out she was allergic to nuts.

That was the day I realized, Ignorance and innocence are not the same thing.
